Like I read a dove box and it said beauty bar then on another it said soap. I got the dove LOL. but seriously whats the difference does one make you skin prettier or something?
Well, a beauty bar is more for appealing to women than men. It can have a scent that appeals to women and things like that. It can have moisturizers in it I believe. Look into it though, because a lot of times companies will say things to get you to buy something thinking it’s going to help when really it does no more than any other product without the fancy words. Basically, using appealing words and things to get you to pay more for something than you should have to. They’ll say anything to get you to buy a product these days.
In the United States, soap is regulated by Consumer Product Safety Commission and does not require ingredient labeling. Soap is defined as a salt of a fatty acid that has cleansing properties. Therefore, anything that claims to be a cosmetic or a medication (such as moisturizing, anti-acne, anti-aging, etc) has to be controlled by the FDA and cannot be labeled as "soap". You will find that many "beauty bars" are actually detergents but the word "detergent" does not sound inviting, does it? Sales are better when you call the product a "beauty bar". If you want pretty, healthy skin use soap (and preferably one made from olive oil). Hope this helps.

Mostly, a name to charge more for the product.

Here’s something talking about the Dove beauty bar (and comparing it to another soap): http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/251910/the_better_body_bar_dove_beauty_bar.html?cat=69
