Jeans for Every Body?

Nov 15, 2008 Author: missmayett | Filed under: Jeans

I just took a look through Stacy London’s “Best Jeans for Every Body” article on Oprah.com and was very disappointed to read some of her suggestions. True Religion? Hudson? These companies don’t even manufacture jeans in MY SIZE!

Thanks for the suggestions, Stacy, but maybe make some suggestions for those of us that need denim help and are over a size 10!

Gap in the back

Nov 13, 2008 Author: bsuzanne3 | Filed under: Jeans

Help! I am trying to find jeans that don’t gap in the back, but also don’t cost a fortune. Do such a thing exist? My problem is that my waist is around 27in, but my hips are around 34 1/2in. I have tried both juniors and children’s; but they aren’t made for someone who has had children, and has hips. I even had people reccomend petites, but I am 5′6” w/long legs. I have found a few companies who make curvy, which fit great when you can find them, or if they still make them. But for the most part I can’t find jeans that don’t leave and inch or so gap in the back. Any suggestions would be great!

Anybody know boyfriend jeans?

Oct 27, 2008 Author: susanbgibl | Filed under: Jeans

I bought 2 pair of Gap Straight Boy Friend Jeans. I’ve totally worn out one of them-they get soft pretty quickly after a few washes-to the point my husband refused to go out with me when I wore them. I really loved those jeans. Loved is the operative word. They are gone. The other pair are still around but I forgot and wore them while I was working on a painting and they are now only good for working around the house and while painting. I abolutely LOVE these jeans and, as it seems to always happen, they don’t make that style anymore and the only ones I found on the web-site are size 6. I am not a size 6 and if I were a size 6 I would be able to wear any style jean, a glad bag would look good on me. I’ve Googled these jeans and can not find anything. If anyone can tell me where I can find these…..they must be Gap and they must be Straigh Boy Friend and they should be 12’s but I would settle for a 14, please let me know where to look.

Jeans - Fit

The trick with stretchy jeans, is don’t wash and dry them in hot water, because the heat breaks down the elastic and then they stretch out too much.

Buy stretchy jeans a bit too tight, because they will stretch.

I am 5′5″ and am full figured.

I love my SPANDEX jeans. They are tight and low and feel so sexy.

They fit perfectly and I did try on a lot of jeans before I found these.

Basically you pay for what you get.

Jeans are the same as what they were years ago.

They are much more dressy and fashionable.

It’s an art to finding the right jean!

skinny jeans for everyone

I personally think that skinny jeans are for everyone as long as they fit and they don’t show your ” butt clevage”,

plumers crack …24-7

Sep 11, 2008 Author: jacobg12 | Filed under: Jeans

I know it’s different because I’m a guy, but I have the same problem. No matter what I wear, my crack shows. I spent a lot of time and effort trying to figure out how to fix this, until I realized my back is tapered in a certain way that makes it inevitable that my butt will hang out.

Basically, I learned to accept it. Sure, people tease me and it’s embarrassing sometimes, but I’ve realized it is (unfortunately) part of who I am, and my friends and family have learned to accept me, butt crack and all!

I’m so frustrated!!

I agree with you 100%! All the style shows and talk shows that talk about style show you the really expensive stuff. Not ever do they cater to the actual persons that are watching these shows. Think about it, if I am wealthy, I am probably doing something other than watching TV, like shopping, playing tennis or golf, or maybe taking a trip to Paris or a cruise to St. Martins. I would like to see a real show for the majority of the people.

I get so aggravated at Oprah sometimes because of this. She knows what it’s like to be poor, but she has forgotten, like Dr. Phil and Robin. They can talk about how they came up, but don’t think about us when putting their shows together. I made a point to watch Dr. Phil one day because Robin was going to tell her secrets for looking so young. Well, she chose like 5 women that had emailed her and gave them her routine. A spa treatment in Beverly Hills, microdermabrasion, teeth whitening & bonding, designer makeup, hair and clothing. Her favorite products are outrageous and the average woman can’t afford them.

The same thing with Oprah. Her favorite things are way out of my reach and it is frustrating. Give us the real life for once. I can’t afford Gucci and Prada purses. Mine come from Target, TJ Maxx or Ross. Someone should have a show called, “Real People in Real Times”. Oh. . . . . if only I were in a position to do so, I would do just that!

The FINAL jean solution!

I have to disagree. I think you can wear jeans as long as you stick with a style that is becoming to your body. I am 55 and a size 14. I love my jeans. And yes they are so.. . . . comfortable. It sounds like you may be picking the wrong style for you. As with any other clothing, I have to try on different styles, it’s the same for jeans. I don’t wear low riders and I am a Tommy Hilfiger jean lady and I still love my Levis 529s. Jeans have survived for centuries and will continue to survive for centuries more.

iam clueless in jeans

I’m not an expert, but my husband has “bowed legs” as well and he cannot wear a straight leg jean. Has to be boot cut. If you are going to wear dress pants, opt for the wide leg, which is back in this fall. No one would ever know. It’s hard to find a jean that will totally hide the legs, but move attention away from the knee area. Make sure they have a great fit in the butt, (draws eye to the butt), don’t wear eye catching shoes (makes people look down at your shoes and thus will follow the leg to get there). Do wear an eye popping top or great belt, that will keep the eye up. Learn to stand in different positions that do not emphasize your legs. As I said, I am not an expert; this is just my opinion. Maybe someone with more knowledge will jump in here.

One other thing that has nothing to do with style; take care of your back. People with bowed legs can injure their back a lot quicker than someone who doesn’t. If you can’t kick it, don’t pick it.

Wide leg jeans on short women?

Jul 20, 2008 Author: fatima76 | Filed under: Jeans

Hi,

I just recently watched an episode of the Tyra Banks show where a petite girl asked the very same question. According to the “experts” on the show, the answer is YES. It was a makeover show and she was originally wearing wide leg pants that were too big with a long shirt. They made her over by putting her in high waisted wide leg pants in white, with a white fitted shirt that was tucked in. She looked great!

They advised to have the pants high waisted to create the illusion of a longer leg, and to also wear the same color top. They said if you wear the same color (top and bottom), it makes you look longer.

I hope this helps!
