I agree that high heels are disempowering for women and I do think it is somewhat hypocritical for someone dedicated to personal empowerment to advocate wearing them. And Oprah does have many shows where fashion advisors encourage the wearing of high heels.

You can’t walk far, or run in the things. You’re up in the air, teetering in a fragile position. Not very powerful, IMO. I’m quite short but I gave up wearing high heels a long time ago. So, what, I’m short. At least I can run if I need to. At least I can still walk at the end of the day.

If you ever look at celebrity closets, they almost always have their shoes in boxes with a picture (poloroid) on the outside of the box. So you can stack all of the boxes on top of eachother, but will be able to see the shoes from the pic. They take a picture of one shoe facing front and another shoe from the side, so you see exactly what the shoe looks like.

Pretty cool, huh? Try it and see if it works for you!

I know this may sound crazy, but I LOVE to wear purple with green. You would be surprised by how good the colors look together.

I recently discovered shoe clips. Yes shoe clips! I think shoe clips are a great addition to make any shoe eye -catching. I love them especially when I travel. I can limit the amount of shoes I have to pack because I can change the look of my shoes for each outfit with a different pair of clips. I’m not crazy about vintage shoe clips, so there are a few online retailers of shoe clips that have a great selection of more modern styles. I especially like shoeworthy.com, they have a pretty nice selection at reasonable prices. Enjoy, shoe lovers..

As with all novelty items- I took a chance on ordering PantsStayPut after a friend recommended them to me. I checked out the website and saw some great press and reviews.They are a little more money but they are not throw-aways. PantsStayPut is a permanent fix. I like the fact that I can wash or dryclean my pants and they won’t come out. It has always been such an annoying problem for me and this is really money well spent.
